About Us
Express & Bloom is a nurturing space where dance, creativity, and healing come together. We believe in the transformative power of movement — to help people dance with freedom, heal with intention, and create with purpose. Through expressive arts and meaningful learning experiences, we empower individuals to grow emotionally, academically, and artistically.
Every child has a voice, every woman deserves rest
We believe that everyone should have the chance to shine in their own way. Through dance classes, workshops, creative tutoring, and wellness sessions, we help people express, reflect, and grow.
We work with schools, churches, families, and organizations to deliver impact-filled sessions that meet real needs. Whether we are creating a stage performance, hosting a healing event, or helping a child overcome academic struggles, we do it with heart, creativity, and purpose.
Why Choose Us
We see each child and adult as whole
We bring cultural depth & emotional intelligence into our work
We blend creativity with care
Meet Sophia Newton
Empowering others to rediscover themselves through movement, mindfulness, and art.
Sophia Newton is a UK-based dancer, movement artist, author, and creative educator whose work bridges folk traditions, expressive movement, and advocacy for well-being. Her practice is deeply rooted in Yoruba and Urhobo folk dances, which she weaves with contemporary and English folk influences to explore identity, spirituality, and healing through movement.
Sophia is a Practitioner Member of the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS), a Member of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), and a Fellow of the Global Arts in Medicine Fellowship. Her artistic and educational approach unites performance, authorship, and participation — using dance and creative writing as tools for expression, reflection, and cultural dialogue.
She is the author of Becoming Again, a reflective movement journal that encourages healing through creativity, movement, and personal rediscovery. Sophia has created and performed internationally, with works such as Listen (Qatar), Ori – The Crown We Carry, Mo Rien Asan Wo Nurhe, and Rooted and Grounded (Diverse Crawley).
Through her platform Express & Bloom, Sophia continues to shape a vibrant intersection between folk arts, education, and emotional healing, empowering others to find freedom and voice through movement and creativity.
